But until then, here are some things you’ve missed!
What we’ve been busy with…
Prayer Fellowship
During CF’s exam break, some members have been meeting up regularly on campus in small groups to have fellowship and to pray for each other! We place importance on meeting up corporately, catching up with one another during lunch breaks, spending time & growing in love for God—we also read a book together! We believe it is a loving thing to constantly remind one another of the gospel in stressful times as fellow Christian students.
Two Ways To Live: An Evangelism Workshop Series
After Prayer Fellowship, we realised that as Christians, we are made to proclaim God’s Gospel to the community around us, so we embarked on a 7-week workshop series after we heard the struggles of some members when they tried to evangelise to their friends and classmates!
For this is the Christian’s great commission in Matthew 28:18-20:
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Therefore, we as Christians are called by God to go and preach this good news, the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
TWO ways to live is a choice we all face, so what will we choose?
“Two Ways To Live (2WTL) is a really helpful evengelistic tool because it provides structural clarity aiming to help Christians and unbelivers alike hear the Gospel about God & His world, and think about choices we make in our lives.”
—Rachel Sia (BAC CF Alumni)
BAC CF gathers every Tuesday, at 4.30 pm, at Level 2 Hull on campus.
Sports & Socials
Psst… did you know the CF exercises and stays healthy together too!? We sweat it out and love a little fun & competition!
Sports & Socials or S&S for short, is an outreach bi-weekly event that CF organizes where everyone can invite their classmates to participate in sports activities, come and get to know more about us & what the CF is about! The end goal for S&S is to create opportunites for us to invite our friends to CF where we hope to encourage one another to join CF and keep each other accountable—growing more in our faith & love for God!

We went to a Conference together!

Benson, a regular at CF who attended CTC for the first time reflects,
One of the things that I learnt from CTC is ‘biblical theology’ which is actually very new to me. In short, it is an attempt to understand and embrace alternative perspectives of biblical authors about the gospel. But it is not just about knowing, it is about loving God’s word and taking time to know Him as is seen in 1 Corinthians 8:1-2 how “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up. I was reminded to slow down to the details, [as CTC] carefully expounds God’s words.
We were extremely blessed as a CF to hear from the speaker Dr Brian Tabb for a whole week on the book of Revelation!
The main book we studied is Revelation and we learned that Revelation is a book of prophetic pictures which offers God’s people wisdom & hope. Revelation shows us that God alone is true, good and worthy of our praise and trust,
Therefore, worship GOD! (Rev 19:10, 22:9).

Highlight Event: Intervarsity Christian Week!
BAC CF was invited to join Intervristy Christian Week (ICW)—an annual event that invites Christian Fellowships from all over Klang Valley to meet, learn and encourage each other in the gospel. This year at Intervarsity Christian Week, we were challenged to think about what it means to be “Doing What Matters”.
“ICW was a really eye-opening experience for me as a new committee in the Media & Marketing Team, I got the chance to exchange ideas and experiences with students from CFs of other universities, and it also made me think about what really matters.”
We have to understand that CF is a place of God’s ministry and it is meant to last! The mission statement of BAC CF is to continue striving side by side for the gospel, but to do this we have to get the gospel right or at least, be together BECAUSE of the gospel. To serve in His CF is to understand that unless God is happy, nothing is worth it.
“We serve at the pleasure of God.”
-Benson (Active CF and Media & Marketing Department member)
We admit it is extremely hard to be a Christian student on campus, especially leading a CF, so we’re extremely grateful for the extended community found at ICW—we’re looking forward to being a part of this community contributing to this good effort of preaching God’s gospel faithfully, Together For The Gospel!
Final Words & Reflections: What retirement looks like…
Merliah Yong
CF President 2020-2022

Hello, I’m Merliah the previous president of BACCF! It has been a long and unforgettable journey for me in CF, I have been in CF since 2017 going from a regular member to joining the committee and becoming president. Lots of people asked me, how did you manage to do that?' and honestly I don't know either, only that surely this is all by God’s grace.
I really thank God and this CF for the opportunity to serve Him and glorify His name. I have learned a lot from CF, from leadership skills, how to lead a bible study, learn how to organise events and solve problems which are really valuable skill sets for ministry in the future.
However, being President I did struggle a lot not to be ‘overtaken’ by my power, knowledge and pride. At one point, I was proud of my knowledge and I couldn’t listen to any opinions from anyone except the one that I admire and respect.
I only realised this when my best friend asked me: “Do you think that you’re the most knowledgeable person in the world?” “No,” I replied. “Then why are you so proud of your knowledge? Your pride has covered your eyes, you cannot see your flaws, you’re just living in your own world, you have closed your ears and heart.”
At that point, I only realised how foolish I was, I realised that there might be someone out there hurting from my words and attitude.
This is a lesson that I learnt the most, how to humble yourself when you have the power & knowledge. And it’s really hard to humble ourselves, but remember that without Him, we’re nothing.
We’re the same—brothers and sisters in Christ, and no one is better than another. We are all sinful and are all made to serve Him in different ways and places; no matter whether you’re a regular member, committee or in the leadership team, always remember to humble yourselves.
Romans 12:4-5 states it very clearly, 4 For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
I thank all that have joined or served in CF, and I deeply thank the Lord for allowing me to meet and learn from each and every one of you. It's been a wonderful journey being with everyone in CF! I will continue to pray that everyone in CF will always follow His guide and glorify His name!
God Bless.
-Merliah (President of BAC CF 2020-2022)
And from Megan Yap
Head of Media & Marketing 2020-2021, CF Treasurer 2020-2022

Hi everyone!
For those who have yet to know me, my name is Megan!
Looking back, I realized that I have grown much ever since I first stepped foot into the doors of BACCF in 2019. Rebellious and hard-hearted, I treated God and His Church as merely something that was therapeutic, existing just to make me feel like a better human being according to worldly ‘good’. I had no regard for serving His people, and, fueled by purely individualistic selfish ambitions under the false pretence of ‘self-improvement’, I persistently rejected every offer to serve in CF as a committee because I believed that this commitment would tie me down in my future career.
Nevertheless, I thank God for faithful ministers who, even in the midst of my rebellion and indifference towards the gospel, never gave up on me (although I tried my best to push them all away).
During the pandemic, I was taught the true gospel; learnt who God is, the reality of sin, who I was, and who I am now before him; that no amount of good works from me could make me into a ‘good person’ and help me attain the salvation I thought I deserved.
Everything has been God’s initiative and His work alone. I recognized then, that it was my turn to respond to His Grace in repentance and thankfulness, working out this precious life in complete servitude and reverence to our sovereign Lord, labouring for the gospel, teaching & warning CF members of the truth of the gospel, just like how I was taught years ago.
It has been 3 years since, and time flies like a blink of an eye! These years have been the most edifying and sanctifying phase in my journey as a Christian thus far, and I praise God for faithful friends who were bold to correct me when I was blindly indulging in my sinfulness.
In the end, I have realised the gospel isn’t therapeutic—it is absolutely clear, and cutting. I have had the amazing privilege to be humbled, rebuked, and exposed to my sin, again and again, while serving in campus ministry.
Dear CF,
It is the love of Christ that compels us, controls us, and propels us to strive for God’s glory because He deserves it!
This is true—that serving in campus ministry is going to be hard and tough. We fail hard, but we are able to dust ourselves and get up again. We look to the cross, acknowledging just how starkly we are in contrast to God and His perfection, knowing that at the end of it all He is the one in control, that we belong body and soul, to our faithful Lord, Jesus Christ.
So we continue pushing forward, and we continue being faithful to the gospel that has been proclaimed and taught to us.
The church is reformed and always reforming, may we also strive to ensure that our hearts and lives are being reformed by God’s Word and Spirit as we serve in CF. And though we affirm the Five Solas, let us not find ourselves only abiding as one—(being) Protestant in name alone.
As I pass on the baton to my future committee, I would love to end with a quote from a fellow CF senior,
“All good things from me stem from God alone, and all mistakes are mine alone to bear.”
Alleluia, Soli Deo Gloria.
Yours in Christ,
Megan Yap
